Issue summary

The error code RVR-ACTIVATE-200 with the description "Failed to get metadata from the database" indicates the system cannot retrieve metadata due to an invalid database connection. The activate_river data connector generates this error. Incorrect database connection parameters or network issues disrupt communication between Data Integration and the database.

To resolve the error, follow these steps:

1. Verify connection settings: Ensure that all connection parameters, such as host name, port, database name, username, and password, are correctly entered. Double-check these against the database's access specifications.

2. Test network connectivity: Confirm there are no network issues or firewalls blocking communication between Data Integration and your database. You can do this by pinging the database server from your environment.

3. Check database permissions: Ensure that the user account used to connect has the necessary permissions to access metadata within the database.

4. Re-authenticate the connection: Sometimes re-establishing the connection can help resolve transient issues. Disconnect and reconnect the data source within Data Integration.

5. Run connection tests: Use Data Integration Test Connection feature to verify your connection settings work as expected.
